(FAIRFIELD, IL) — A 3.4 magnitude earthquake shook the region Friday night, when a tremor was registered just nine miles north of Fairfield in Wayne County. The quake was registered around 7:41 p.m. Friday, with the U.S. Geological Survey saying it originated from a depth of five kilometers and was likely triggered by the Wabash Fault. A 2.3 magnitude tremor was registered Thursday near Elberfeld, Indiana. It’s also believed to have been triggered by the Wabash Fault. There have been no damages from Friday’s quake reported.
