House Approves Measure That Aims To Prevent Heroin Abuse

(Springfield, IL) — A new measure aimed at preventing heroin abuse is working it way through the state general assembly. The Illinois House approved a proposal yesterday that would require police departments and fire houses to carry drugs that counteract the effects of a heroin overdose. The bill would also provide a state system that would help residents dispose of prescription medications. The measure now moves on to the Senate.
