Rutherford Accusers Want Back Pay, Clean Records

(Springfield, IL) — Three former workers for ex-state Treasurer Dan Rutherford say they’re still being punished for providing damaging evidence in a sexual harassment investigation of Rutherford. They claim Rutherford wrongfully fired them for misconduct because they came forward with the allegations that Rutherford made advances to employees and forced them to do political work on state time. The three want back pay and to have their records cleared. New Treasurer Michael Frerichs has refused their demands, and the three are now threatening further legal action if their demands aren’t met.
