(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a 22-year-old Bluford man wanted for failure to appear on a warrant stemming from a fatal car crash. Robert T. Hayes is charged with one count of driving under the influence of drugs and two counts of aggravated DUI resulting in a death for an Oct. 2012 traffic crash. Illinois State Police said Hayes was speeding through an Interstate 64 rest area east of Mt. Vernon when he crashed into a tree. Two passengers – 24-year-old Holly Fenton, of Bluford, and 20-year-old Cody Bidabe, of Fairfield – were killed. Hayes and two other passengers were injured. Online court records show a motion hearing in the case was previously scheduled Mar. 26. The sheriff’s office says Hayes’ last known residence was in the Bluford area.
