(Marion, IL)  —  A Marion man who pleaded guilty to the smothering death of his infant son will now serve 12 years in prison.  Brandon Vaughn was sentenced Tuesday.  Prosecutors say in October 2013, the defendant put a blanket over the head of three-month-old Braysen and then left to smoke with friends.  The state had originally asked for 14 years, but the judge chose 12 instead, giving Vaughn credit for taking responsibility for his actions.
