(Benton, IL) — The head of the Benton High School District 103 is stepping down. Doctor Kelly Stewart announced Tuesday that she is retiring next month after serving as school chief for 14 years. She has accepted a job at McKendree University as a professor in their new doctoral program. Stewart says her decision to leaves was mostly due to changes to the retirement system.
