(BENTON, IL) — On April 30, 2015, Corinthus Bevely, a/k/a “Rent,” 45, of Marion, plead guilty to a one-count indictment charging conspiracy to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen R. Wigginton, announced Monday. The offense occurred between March 2014 and December 2014, in Williamson County. The offense carries a penalty of up to 20 years in federal prison, to be followed by 3 years’ supervised release, and a fine of $1,000,000. Bevely is currently being held without bond pending an August 27, 2015, sentencing hearing. The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group. The Williamson County State’s Attorney’s Office also assisted in the investigations. The case is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Amanda A. Robertson for prosecution.
