(MT. VERNON, IL) — Mt. Vernon City Council is due to meet this evening. Among items on the agenda, the Council will have the swearing in of the newly elected officials and the City Attorney will give the first reading of an ordinance fixing the salaries and benefits of certain employees of the city of Mt. Vernon. The mayor will also announce the appointments and reappointments to various boards and commissions. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building.
