CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) — Southern Illinois University has narrowed its search for the school’s new chancellor to four finalists. All four candidates in the running to replace Interim Chancellor Paul Sarvela are provosts at large research universities who have experience building enrollment and strengthening retention. The Southern Illinoisan reports the finalists include Pam Benoit of Ohio University, Susan M. Ford of Southern Illinois University, Sabah U. Randhawa of Oregon State University and Lawrence Schovanec of Texas Tech University. The school has been searching for a new chancellor since Sarvela died in November.
