(MARION, IL) — We now know the name of the Goreville man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash shortly before 6 Wednesday evening on Route 37 near Reservoir Road just south of Marion. Williamson County Coroner Junior Burke says 72-year-old Richard L. Haught was pronounced dead at 8:35 p.m. at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Haught was driving in the northbound lane when he crossed the center line into the southbound lane hitting another vehicle head on driven by 23-year-old Trey Holmes of Marion. Holmes suffered non-life threatening injuries and was also taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center for treatment. Illinois State Police believe alcohol and impaired driving may have led to the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
