(MT. VERNON, IL) — Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 33-year-old Opdyke man on multiple meth-related charges over the weekend, while investigating a non-drug related case. Jeromie Kemp was arrested after deputies reportedly saw suspicious items at a home in the 6700 block of North Goshen Lane in Opdyke, and questioned the resident. Deputies reportedly discovered large amounts of meth making materials in the home. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office/Mt. Vernon Police Department Joint Narcotics Division was called to assist in the investigation and the Illinois State Police Meth Response Team was called to clean up the chemicals. Kemp is charged with possession of meth manufacturing materials, possession of meth, meth manufacturing, and possession of drug parapernalia. He’s being held in the Jefferson County Jail, with bail set at $60,000.
