Illinois historic site to commemorate Lincoln’s death

LERNA, Ill. (AP) — The Lincoln Log Cabin Historic Site will commemorate the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s death with special theater performances. The presentations are scheduled for the weekend of April 10 to 12. The performances will take visitors back to Ford’s Theater on the evening the nation’s 16th president was assassinated. The shows are “An Evening at Ford’s Theatre: April 14, 1865” and “Our American Cousin” — the play Abraham and Mary Lincoln were viewing when he was shot and killed. The Lincoln Log Cabin Historic Site is located eight miles south of Charleston. It includes the 1840s farm home of Lincoln’s parents, Thomas and Sarah Bush Lincoln.
