Illinois Budget Fix Means 15 Million Dollar UI Cut

(Champaign, IL) — University of Illinois officials say they won’t have to make major changes even after an Illinois budget fix will cause the school to cut millions from their own budget. The state measure fills a more than one-million-dollar budget hole for this fiscal year after a two-point-25-percent across the board cut. U of I spokesman Tom Hardy says the university will have to cut 15-million-dollars from their budget. He says there will not be any layoffs of faculty or staff.
