(Marion, IL) — Winter weather has caused damage to two government buildings in Jackson County. Marion Mayor Bob Butler told WSIL-TV that melted ice and snow has damaged the main floor and the bottom floor of City Hall. He says it could take about 100 thousand dollars in repairs. The Jackson County Courthouse also needs some fixing up. Storm drains clogged with ice caused rain water to spill into a corner of the courthouse. That resulted in wet tile and carpet, along with water damage to files and books. No important documents were destroyed.
