Field To Replace Schock Narrows

(Springfield, IL) — In the early race to replace Peoria’s Aaron Schock in Congress, state Senator Darin LaHood is in, but senators Bill Brady and Jason Barickman are out. LaHood is the son of former congressman and U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. Brady, a former candidate for governor said today he will not seek the seat, as did Barickman, citing family concerns. Schock announced his resignation yesterday as questions swirl about his spending and finances. He leaves office with more than three-million-dollars in his campaign fund, but could be subject to investigations by the Federal Election Commission or the Justice Department.
