Schock Defends Staff Travel To New York Concert

(Washington, DC) — Peoria congressman Aaron Schock today defending spending more than ten-thousand-dollars in public funds to take ten staff members on a trip to New York City in September. The trip centered around the appearance of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit and his attendance at a festival and concert that were underwritten in part by the Peoria-based Caterpillar company. Schock today called this latest inquiry into his spending habits a “very legitimate trip,” though the Chicago “Sun-Times” reports most Schock staffers did little official work during their stay.
