(SALEM, IL) — The Salem Police Department is asking the public for information. If you recall, temperatures were pretty cold last weekend, and according to police reports, last Saturday night, someone left a miniature dachshund in a pet taxi behind the dumpster at the El Rancherito restaurant Police are asking anyone who may have any information regarding this dog, or the person or persons who left the animal, to please contact the police department at 618- 548-2232. The dog died shortly after the officers and Animal Control arrived on-scene.
