Severe Weather Preparedness Week is going on now through Saturday across Illinois. The statewide tornado drill is set to take place Tuesday morning at 10. Sirens will be activated to allow you the opportunity to practice your severe weather preparedness plans. Also if you have purchased a NOAA weather radio and need it programmed, you can take it to the Franklin County Annex Building on West Main in Benton Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is free.
