Storm Dumps Close to a Foot of Snow in Some Parts of State

(LINCOLN, IL) — Downstate Illinois was blanketed by more winter weather this weekend, with many areas seeing between a half-foot and a foot of snow. The snow began Saturday afternoon and continued into the Sunday morning hours, spanning from the Metro East to the eastern part of the state. The snow caused numerous accidents on interstates and caused snow emergencies to be declared in several cities. The highest reported snow total by the National Weather Service was ten inches in DeWitt County.
