EFFINGHAM, Ill. (AP) — Effingham soon will get charging stations from electric car manufacturer Tesla. The Effingham Daily News reports the California-based company will supply six charging stations to the Jack Flash gas station in the central Illinois city. Tesla produces two models of fully-electric cars. It has dozens of “Supercharger” stations across Illinois and in most states. Gas station owner John Wortman says Tesla representatives approached him last fall about adding them to his location. He signed a lease for the charging stations in February. Wortman believes Effingham was chosen due to its proximity to the interstates and because it lies between Chicago, St. Louis and Indianapolis. He says the charging stations at his store will only work with Tesla cars.
