SWANSEA, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say a 37-year-old man rescued his two young nephews from an icy pond in Swansea. According to Swansea Fire Chief John McGuire, a 10-year-old and 6-year-old fell through the ice on a pond at Centennial Park on Tuesday evening. He says the man went in after the brothers and was able to bring them safely to shore before rescue crews arrived. The Belleville News-Democrat reports all three were taken to a hospital for treatment of cold-related injuries. The names of the man and boys have not been released.
