State Driver’s License May Not Be Good Enough To Fly

(Springfield, IL) — People in Illinois may soon need more than just a driver’s license to get past airport security. That’s because the licenses don’t meet the federal rules designed to increase security at airports across the nation. For example, the state doesn’t require people to show their birth certificate when they get their driving credentials. And, it could cost up to 15-million-dollars over four-years to put the birth certificate verification system into play.
