New U of I Medical School Takes First Step of Approval

(Champaign, IL) — The University of Illinois’ Academic Senate at the Urbana-Champaign campus is giving the thumbs-up to a new medical school. The school would be independent of the College of Medicine and its three state campuses. The school plan must still be approved by faculty, the U of I president and the board of trustees. Supporters note it would include technology and engineering in medical training.
