(Springfield, IL) — Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White has awarded FY15 Illinois Public Library Per Capita and Equalization Aid Grants, and some of our area libraries are receiving comparatively large grants. The Centralia Regional Library district will receive $36,415, while C.E. Brehm Memorial Public Library District in Mt. Vernon will receive $47,397 and Evans Public Library District in Vandalia will receive $14,351. Other libraries in our listening area will be receiving a few hundred to a few thousand dollars in grants from the program. The grants total $15.2 million to 635 public libraries serving almost 12 million patrons.
