(WEST CITY, IL) — Residents in West City could see more video gaming terminals coming to town. During a recent West City Village board meeting, board members approved letting Village Attorney Ron Giacone draft an ordinance that would create a new liquor license for gaming. There are only two businesses right now that allow video gaming – Nikki’s Place and Caprese Pizza and Pasta. State law says in order for businesses to offer video gaming, businesses must have a so-called “pour” liquor license. Several businesses in West City are seeking approval from village leaders for liquor licenses. The Illinois Gaming Board says West City received almost $14,000 in tax distribution from video gaming between January 2012 and December of last year.
