Medora Fire Boss Killed In Traffic Accident

(Medora, IL) — A Metro East fire chief is dead after a traffic accident involving a fire truck. Illinois State Police say Kenneth Lehr was hit by the fire vehicle as it was backing up during a medical emergency. The 59-year-old had been the chief in Medora, Illinois since 2006. Grief counselors are being made available for other firefighters. Nearby fire departments are handling all emergency calls for Medora.
