(Marissa, IL) — The mayor of Marissa, Illinois has pledged to rebuild the town’s burned-out history museum. The blaze was one of several last week in the St. Clair County community. Investigators believe the fires were set on purpose, and they’re still looking for the arsonist. The history museum is a landmark to the area’s coal mining industry. Town leaders are asking people in the community to look for artifacts in their own personal collections and consider donating them to the museum.
