(WASHINGTON COUNTY, IL) — A multiple vehicle personal injury crash took place Monday evening on I- 64 eastbound at milepost 55 in Washington County. Preliminary investigative details indicate that at 9:18 p.m., a 2003 Chevrolet pickup driven by 44 year old Angelo Barry of Park Hills, MO was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes on Interstate 64. A 1999 Buick driven by an unidentified 24 year old male from Calhoun, NE was traveling eastbound on the interstate. The Barry vehicle struck the Buick head on. Both vehicles sustained major damage and were towed from the scene. A 16 year old passenger in the Buick, also from Calhoun, NE, was airlifted to a regional hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The accident investigation is ongoing with charges pending.
