Pizza Has Adverse Effect On Kids

(Chicago, IL) — A new UIC study reveals pizza is the second-highest source of energy for people between the ages of two and 19. But, when they eat the popular meal, their calorie counts, sodium counts, and saturated fat counts go through the roof. Kids consume an additional 84 calories, three grams of saturated fat, and 134 milligrams of sodium on days that they eat pizza compared to when they don’t. That number nearly triples for adolescents. Researchers suggest improving the nutrient content of pizza since it’s eaten so frequently.
