(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — Funeral arrangements have been set for well-known southern Illinois broadcaster Bruce Fasol who passed away Friday night. Services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 at Max Morris Gymnasium in West Frankfort. A private burial service will follow the service in Denning Cemetery on Orient Road. Visitation will be held Wednesday night from 5 to 8 at the Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort and from noon to 2 Thursday in the gym prior to the service. Bruce served as the voice of the West Frankfort Redbirds for over 40 years broadcasting more than 4,000 games. Bruce was extremely involved in his community and spent countless hours volunteering for worthwhile causes that benefitted numerous southern Illinoisans. Radio was a great passion, but he was most passionate about his role as father and grandfather.
