LENZBURG, Ill. (AP) — The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after it says one person was killed in an alleged home invasion in Lenzburg. Sgt. Matt Jany says dispatchers received a call Thursday evening from a man who reported someone was trying to break into his house. He says the homeowner also told dispatchers that he has fired shots at the intruder. When police arrived, they say they found a person who had been fatally shot. Jany says the homeowner wasn’t injured. The Belleville News Democrat reports he declined to comment further.
