(CARBONDALE, IL) — A man was sentenced Friday for gunrunning in southern Illinois. According to Carbondale police, 24-year-old Deaundre R. Wimberly was sentenced to six years in prison. Police say an undercover officer purchased handguns and long guns from Wimberly five times in July and August 2014. Wimberly did not have a license to sell the guns or possess a FOID card. Police say Wimberly must serve 75 percent of his sentence before he will be eligible for parole. When he is released he will be required to be on parole for two years.
