(CENTRALIA, IL) — An armed robbery of an east-side Centralia convenience store has law enforcement asking the public for information. Reports indicate before 2:30 Sunday afternoon, a white male entered the Casey’s General Store on East Noleman Street in Centralia, displayed a large knife and demanded the employee behind the counter give him the money inside the register. One customer was reportedly inside the store at the time of the robbery. The suspect was described as having his face mostly covered at the time of the robbery, fleeing north from the store on foot. He was reportedly last seen crossing McCord and Martin Luther King Drive. The same store was robbed in September. The Casey’s store in Sandoval was robbed Christmas Eve morning. No arrests have been made at this time. The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the Sandoval robbery and is looking for a 2005 to 2009 four-door gray Dodge Avenger or Pontiac Grand Prix in connection with that case.
