Quinn Acts On More Clemency Requests

(Chicago, IL) — With the days of his term dwindling, Governor Pat Quinn acted on six-hundred-four clemency requests on Christmas Eve, granting one-hundred-79 of them and rejecting the other four-hundred-25. Quinn has been whittling away at a backlog of 28-hundred clemency requests left unaddressed by former Governor Rod Blagojevich in addition to acting on new requests made since Quinn took office. Those granted clemency have undergone criminal background checks and in some cases can now go to court to have their records expunged. Quinn may act on more clemency requests before leaving office January 12th.
