(BENTON, IL) — A Franklin County man accused of killing his wife in their West Frankfort home earlier this year is set to stand trial next month. Both sides in the case against John P. Adams recently told Judge Tom Tedeschi they are ready to proceed. The jury trial will start Jan. 13 at 9 a.m. Adams allegedly murdered his wife, Kendra Adams, at their home on South Marion Road. Reports say John Adams shot his wife in the back of the head with a small caliber handgun, then called to report that he had found her unresponsive. Kendra Adams was airlifted to an Evansville hospital where she died the next day. John Adams remains in the Franklin County Jail.
