(HARRISBURG, IL) — One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Saline County Wednesday afternoon. Illinois State Police say it happened at 2 p.m. on Route 13 at Carrier Mills Road near Harrisburg. Officials say 86-year-old Wilbert C. Dunn of Carrier Mills was driving his pickup truck north on Carrier Mills Road and had stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with Route 13. He then proceeded across the eastbound lanes of Route 13 and attempted to turn west onto Route 13. During this time, the driver of a semi, 51-year-old Alberto Rafael Carmona Salas of Laredo, TX, was going west on Route 13 traveling in the far left lane while approaching the intersection of Carrier Mills Road. Dunn disobeyed a yield sign and turned into the path of the semi. A passenger in Dunn’s truck, 85-year-old Ellen M. Dunn of Golconda, was taken to Harrisburg Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Dunn was cited for disobeying a yield sign.
