(Belleville, IL) — St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville has asked Illinois state health regulators to delay consideration of its application for a replacement hospital. The hospital sought the postponement after learning that only five of the eight members of the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board would be present at the board’s scheduled meeting on December 16th in Bolingbrook. St. Elizabeth’s needs five votes to get approval for the replacement hospital, which would be built in O’Fallon. The proposal is challenged by Memorial Hospital in Belleville and some public officials. The board’s next meeting is January 27th.
