EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) — A southern Illinois man has been ordered to spend nearly 12 years in federal prison for his role in robbing a bank last year. Thirty-nine-year-old Shawn Gregory of Harrisburg was sentenced Monday to 11 years and nine months in connection with the holdup of the Harrisburg branch of Old National Bank. He pleaded guilty in September to charges of conspiracy to commit bank robbery, aiding and abetting a bank robbery, and two weapons-related counts. Authorities say a cousin Gregory recruited for the heist robbed the bank of roughly $4,200 at gunpoint while Gregory served as the getaway driver. The cousin, Casey Heflin of Boaz, Kentucky, already pleaded guilty and is serving an eight-year federal prison sentence.
