Autopsy Results After First Of The Year On Suspicious Death Of Benton Man

(BENTON, IL) — Franklin County Coroner Marty Leffler says he won’t know the results of an autopsy done on a Benton man until after the first of the year. Leffler says autopsy results on Steven Scott will be held pending toxicology reports, which take about four to six weeks to get back. The 27-year-old Scott died last week at the Magnuson Hotel in West City. Police are treating Scott’s death as suspicious. They say a 911 call went out around 8:40 Tuesday night involving Scott who was reported to be unresponsive at the hotel. When officers arrived, a family member was performing CPR on Scott. Emergency workers took over but could not bring Scott back to life. His funeral was held Sunday.
