Marion City Council Votes to Prohibit Recreational Marijuana Businesses in City

MARION — The Marion City Council has voted to prohibit recreational marijuana businesses come to the city. The council voted 4-1 on the measure to prohibit recreational marijuana sales at their meeting last night.

Murphysboro’s city council will vote on a similar ordinance at their council meeting this evening. The use of recreational marijuana becomes legal in Illinois on January 1st.
