SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — A former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois has announced he will seek the Republican nomination to run for election as 2nd Circuit Judge in the primary election in March.

Courtney Cox is a native of Southern Illinois, currently lives in Benton, and graduated from the SIU School of Law in 1982. He says one of the most important characteristics of a judge is to be able to listen.

Illinois’ 2nd Judicial Circuit encompasses Crawford, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jefferson, Lawrence, Richland, Wabash, Wayne, and White Counties.
