Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Brian D. Hartnell Sr. Saturday for alleged burglary. Chief Deputy Lt. Andy Garden confirmed the arrest but is withholding details pending Hartnell’s appearance in court Tuesday afternoon.

He was already scheduled for a pretrial hearing Tuesday on a charge of felony possession of methamphetamine stemming from a May arrest.

Hartnell is also currently on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections for a 2018 conviction for the battery and strangling a woman riding in his van. He was scheduled to be released from parole on the 27th of this month.

Hartnell is the father of Nicole Kirgan’s 15-year-old son who recently pleaded guilty to obstruction in the shooting death of Jaden Lee Krauss in Kirgan’s Centralia home. She is being held in the Marion County Jail as well, on obstruction and witness intimidation charges connected to the Krauss shooting.
