Lewis Sylva Morgan, 85, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 11:10 p.m., August 9, 2019, at the Veterans Affairs Community Living Center, in Marion.

He was born March, 11, 1934, in McKeefrey , West Virginia, the son of William Clark and Roxie Frances (West) Morgan.  On August 6, 1988, he married Lynette Rita Klinckman, and she survives in Mt. Vernon.

He attended Mt. Hope Elementary and Cameron High School, and served for four years in the United States Air Force.  Mr. Morgan worked for the railroad for many years before his retirement, and was a member of NARVE.  He was a member of the Church of Christ, in both West Virginia and Chicago.  He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding (He attended Sturgis six times.),  boating, and sewing.  He was also wonderfully skilled in construction, electric, plumbing, barbering, all tools, stained glass, photo developing, food grilling, pie making, cooked fish, roasts and soup.

In addition to his wife, Lynette Morgan, he is survived by two daughters, Marylou Petras of St. Cloud, Florida, and Kimberly Irene Rowe of Homestead, Florida;  seven grandchildren, Nicole Ashley Morgan of St. Thomas, Florida, Alexandra Scheusler of Taveras, Florida, Dannielle Petras from Orlando, Florida, Ellen Allan of Longwood, Florida, Ashley Nicole Naccarato of Chicago, Danielle Maria Naccarato of Chicago, and Tori Lyn Naccarato of Bartlett, Illinois;  four great grandchildren, Audrianna Donastorg of St. Thomas, Destiny Donastorg of St. Thomas, and Lily Morgan of Orlando, Florida, and Caleth Ann Petras of Taveras, Florida;  three brothers, Robert Morgan of Mingo Junction, Ohio, Floyd Morgan of Sauk Village, Illinois, and Lloyd Morgan of Moundsville, West Virginia;  three sisters, Darlene Howard of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Sandra Ferry of Greenfield, Wisconsin, and Linda Dumas of Naples, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Matthew and Mark Morgan, Twins, of Blue Island, Illinois, Stephen Morgan of Homestead, Florida, Thomas Morgan of Miami Lakes, Florida, and Richard Morgan of Cameron, West Virginia;  one brother, Hubert Morgan of Moundsville, West Virginia; and one sister, Louise Keller of Moundsville, West Virginia.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and a graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 24, 2019 at Smith Veterans Cemetery, with Chaplain Ernie Collins officiating.  Graveside military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #141.  Memorial gifts may be made to the Smith Cemetery and will be accepted by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.
