Hamilton County Authorities Arrest Two After Foot Pursuit Following Crash

HAMILTON COUNTY — Two people led law enforcement in Hamilton County on a brief foot pursuit following a report about a single vehicle accident involving a pickup truck on its roof along County Road 1000 North around 9:50 Monday morning.

Hamilton County Sheriff Tracy Lakin says deputies and McLeansboro Police officers responded to the scene, and witnesses told them that a young man and woman ran east from the crash site to a nearby farm and gave a detailed description of the two.

After an extensive search of the property located at 10998 County Road 1000 North, the man and woman were spotted walking east through a soybean field. After officers gave commands to stop, the two continued to run east toward a tree line and tall grass.

After a brief foot pursuit, 24-year-old Keith Redmon, Jr. of Anna and 22-year-old Desiree Dunning of Johnston City were taken into custody without incident. They are currently housed in the White County Jail charged with possession of stolen vehicle.

The sheriff says officers continued investigating the accident and found that the vehicle involved in the accident was stolen out of New Burnside, Illinois.
