CROSSVILLE — A Crossville man is charged with aggravated battery after being involved in a brawl in the area of Second Street and Elliott Street in Crossville around 9:20 Thursday night.

According to a Crossville Police press release, when officers arrived, the majority of the individuals ran to 303 Second St. Several individuals said they had been struck by 40-year-old Danny L. Stephens. One of the victims was a man paralyzed from the waist down and had been seen by witnesses being punched in the face by Stephens.

Stephens was arrested for aggravated battery on the man. All other individuals, including Stephens’ daughter, declined to sign a complaint.

Crossville Police were assisted by the White County Sheriff’s Department, Carmi Police and Illinois State Police.
