WILLIAMSON COUNTY — A Carterville man pled guilty Monday in Williamson County Court to participation in meth manufacturing, a Class 1 felony, and was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti says on July 20, 2016, Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported hostage situation in Carterville. Once they arrived and secured the scene, they found 28-year-old Brenden Buzick and home meth making materials. He was arrested at the scene and charged with the offense the following day.

Zanotti says Buzick has prior felony convictions, including a meth delivery conviction out of Montgomery County and a meth possession conviction out of Macoupin County.
