Nancy Sue Hart, 80, of Bluford, Illinois passed away at 12:56 P.M. on July 13, 2019 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born September 20, 1938 in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late Virgil D. and Lucille W. (Capps) Hatfield. Nancy married Gleason Robert “Bob” Hart on August 10, 1957 in Mount Vernon. They were blessed with a loving fifty-five years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 24, 2012.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Vicki Hayes and husband, Fred of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Tonja Breeze and husband, Paul of Evansville, Indiana; granddaughter, Heather Sinclair and husband, Phillip of Bluford, Illinois; great-grandson, Jackson Eli Sinclair; sisters-in-law, Marge Hatfield of Granite City, Illinois, Wanda Hatfield of Lake Placid, Florida, and Hallie Hatfield of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her great-grandchildren, Dalton Issiah Sinclair, Haden Nichole Sinclair; brothers, Mike Hatfield, Terry Hatfield, and Dick Hatfield; and sisters, Elaine Mellen, Jean Carr, and Frances Stewart.
Nancy worked as a laborer at a Shoe Factory and then worked at White Oak Rehabilitation for 33 years before she retired. She attended East Hickory Hill Baptist Church in Bluford. Nancy was a loving mother and grandmother. The joy of her life was her family, especially her great-grandson, Jackson. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 19, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn, Illinois with Reverend Andy May officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Relay for Life or SSM Health at Home Hospice.
