JEFFERSON COUNTY — Centralia Fire Protection District firefighters responded early Friday morning to a reported structure fire in the 21000 block of North Post Oak Lane, south of Walnut Hill.

Firefighters arrived on the scene just after 4:14 a.m. and found a mobile home engulfed in flames in the center living room and east end kitchen.

Five occupants, three adults and two children got out safely after one of the adults awoke to the smell of smoke and alerted the others.

The fire is believed to have begun in the floor area around the front door.

Firefighters were on scene for nearly three hours.
