CENTRALIA — A large group of people sporting red shirts gathered Tuesday night at the southwest corner of McCord and Poplar streets in Centralia, to draw attention to the recent shooting death of 13-year-old Jaden Krauss and to demand answers and justice for the young man and his mother.

Jaden was fatally shot during a sleepover May 4th. He died two days later – the same day a 15-year-old juvenile male was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with Jaden’s shooting death.

The 15-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge on May 15th and is awaiting a June 26th sentencing hearing. Four other juveniles who were at the home were only detained and questioned before they were released without any charges.

Protesters are questioning the speed in which the juvenile was charged and pleaded guilty. They’re also questioning why others haven’t been charged in the case.

Authorities have said they are still investigating the incident and that the other teens at the sleepover could still face charges.
