Rodney Panzier, 63, of Woodlawn, Illinois passed away at 2:18 A.M.May 16, 2019 at Washington County Hospital in Nashville, Illinois. He was bornNovember 11, 1955 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Johnny and Patsy (Williams) Panzier. He married Diane Langa on October 11, 1975 in Woodlawn, Illinois, where she survives.
In addition to his loving wife of 43 years, Diane Panzier, Rodney is survived by his daughter, Rhonda King and husband, George “Billy” of Woodlawn; three grandchildren, Ben King, Sarah King, and Levi King, all of Woodlawn; two sisters, Sue Nicholls and Johna Garner, both of Waltonville; three brothers-in-law, Gary Langa and wife Janet of Mount Vernon, Danny Langa and wife Karen of McLeansboro, and Tom Langa and wife Donna of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Louie Nicholls and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold “Bud” Langa and Loretta Langa.
Rodney worked for General Tire as a general trucker in the Curing Department. He also served on the Woodlawn Fire Department for forty years, retiring as the Assistant Chief. He enjoyed 4-H and watching the kids participate in the program. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and he was a member of the Woodlawn Christian Church. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A Visitation will be held from5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Members of the Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a Walk-Through at 7:30 P.M., the evening of the visitation. A Funeral Service will be held at1:00 P.M. Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Hughey Funeral Home with Mr. Tracey Thomas and Mr. Doug Junkins officiating. Interment will follow atMount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. Memorials, in Rodney’s loving memory, may be made to the Siteman Cancer Center in Saint Louis, Missouri or the Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department.
